In this next step of my storytelling painting, I’m leaning into negative painting, and revealing a swarm of bees emerging from the layers. This piece is unfolding over time...letting shapes, movement, and story guide the process rather than rushing to the finish.
Negative painting is one of my favorite ways to create depth and mystery…painting around the subject instead of directly on it. In this session, you’ll see how the bees begin to appear, and one layer at a time, as the background does the work.
