Oh, boy... The Slide of Your Life used to fuck me up soooo badly as a kid. I would fly off the edges, go flying off the weird half-pipe area where you had this sliver of a platform to slide around, I used to fly... fly... fly. Call this Pigeontouille because I was a flying rat.
Anyway, I remember when I mastered this slide and I felt like such a god, LOL. It does great at being the final slide; it's your biggest and last sliding challenge yet, and it does well at reminding you that you CAN and SHOULD slow yourself down or else you'll be here awhile.
This area used to freak me out; not only because of the warm yellow-ish orange hues and the mildew and water that's slowly stagnated on the ceiling, creating little stalagmites in the process; but because I used to play this game on a CRT, at low-ish volume... and when the music would get quiet, although you can hear the instrumentation a lot better with headphones on a laptop, it sounded *dead silent* on my end. It really set the tone, I'll never forget my first reaction to that.
Oh, and the chase sequence is really funny. Not only does an insane frenchman eat shit trying to catch us, but so does Grandma! Fun for the whole family!
