THE GIRTH OF A HERO! PATRICK STARFISHMAN: THE COMING OF... DREADED PATRICK!
(I would SO read Starfishman if it were a real comic. Ahem.) Anyway... I did say I had things to say about this level. Oh boy, oh boy. I'll sit on it until the next track, but for now I'm gonna say something positive: THIS SOUNDTRACK. THESE VISUALS. Best in the game, I'm not gonna hear anything otherwise.
The pop art style -- cel-shading... this is the one time the game *really* shines visually, I think. If only they'd made the entire game cel-shaded ala The Fairly Odd Parents games, I think it would've been much prettier to look at. Although the Starfishman segment wouldn't have stood out much if it did.
I love how slow and groovy it sounds here. Very mysterious and "noir" -- makes you really feel like you're in Starfishman's shoes (or uh, lack thereof, anyway). It's another day fighting crime, but you don't quite know what's gonna be lurking around the corner this time. Hopefully it's nothing... or something. Like donuts and ice cream. Still, you're playing it cool... so cool. It's a shame it can only really be heard if you stand completely still after a cutscene has ended.
