I love this song, and I always will.
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for homeless travelers, especially the ones carrying their whole lives on their backs… and still finding a way to create something beautiful.
For my 25th sober anniversary, we produced a four-hour livestream. I put out a request asking homeless musicians to send me their music.
Cash sent me this song.
And I love everything about it.
But not long after… Cash died outside.
That truth still hurts.
His music lives on, but he should have too.
We must do everything in our power to prevent and solve homelessness.
