The Simpsons Movie (87 min)
Synopsis: After 18 seasons, 400 episodes, and 23 Emmys, The Simpsons has become a feature-length motion picture based on the hit TV series. In the eagerly-awaited film, Homer must save the world from a catastrophe he himself created. It all begins with Homer, his new pet pig, and a leaky silo full of droppings - a combination that triggers a disaster the likes of which Springfield has never experienced. As the fates of Springfield and the world hang in the balance, Homer embarks on a personal odyssey of redemption - seeking forgiveness from Marge, the reunion of his splintered family, and the salvation of his hometown.

Trivia:
• In total, the film took nine years to complete. Fox greenlit the project back in 1997. The voice cast was signed on to do the film in 2001 and work then began on the script. Producing a final script also took several years because almost 160 different versions were written before choosing the final one as plots were continuously being repurposed for the television episodes.
• For the entire month of July 2007, as part of a campaign to hype the opening of the movie, twelve "7-Eleven" stores all over North America changed their names to Kwik-E-Marts, and begun selling products from the television series like Buzz Cola, KrustyO's cereal, Radioactive Man comics, and Squishees.
• 20th Century Fox held a contest to select one of sixteen possible Springfields (spanning nationwide) to decide which city would host the premiere. Springfield, Vermont won, just beating out Springfield, Illinois.
The Copyright Laws of the United States recognizes a “fair use” of copyrighted content. Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act states: “Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.”
