This was terrifying. I hope none of you have an experience like this while camping. I've chosen to share the story because I want to help people be prepared should they ever deal with an encounter like this. My intent is not to discourage anyone from enjoying our national forests. Quite the opposite! My hope is that as you explore and make awesome memories you will be equipped to handle any potentially negative situation no matter how rare it may be.
