A simple afternoon excursion turned into a full day event. Exhausted, cold and stressed but not defeated. And thatβs what keeps us going back isnβt it? The difficulty awakens something inside of us. Something primal - spiritual even. Like a nearly forgotten memory fighting to survive.
You never can fully know what to expect when you go off road in a remote location like a national forest. Typically, I prefer overlanding (multiple day camping/wheeling and staying in different spots each night) to a day trip like I do in this video. I tend to do a better job preparing and planning my routes. However, part of exploring these more remote areas means being prepared for whatever happens no matter how long the trip was supposed to be. Having the right equipment and knowledge is crucial in situations like this.
