These are the final photographs ever taken by the Voyager spacecraft.
Captured at the edge of the Solar System, they mark the last time humanity saw the outer planets through Voyager’s eyes.
Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 transformed our understanding of the Solar System. They revealed Jupiter’s storms, Saturn’s rings, Uranus’s tilted world, and Neptune’s supersonic atmosphere, before continuing onward into interstellar space. But before the cameras were powered down forever, Voyager sent back its final images, a solar system family portrait, a last look at the worlds it left behind, and at our place among them. They are the closing frames of humanity’s first grand tour of the Solar System.
