So if you have been paying attention to my community tab posts, you probably recently saw something about there being a problem with AI generated dubbing in my newest content.
This was not something that I chose to do. This was something that YouTube decided to sneak onto my content without my knowledge. And so ever since January 1st, If you have been viewing my content from another country you have likely been plagued by this terrible AI dubbing.
But fear not my friends, I will get my unaltered content to you one way or another! So after fixing the issue I have uploaded this supercut celebrating the return of Paleo Analysis! If you are part of my international audience, this will be the best way to view the last three videos I have uploaded. And if you are someone who just enjoys watching long compilations of my content, this is a gift to you!
Part 1 Utahraptor: King of the Raptors
In 1993, the wider world learned what a raptor was for the very first time with the release of Jurassic Park! However long before that paleontologists were studying the fascinating family of Theropods. It was because of them that we learned that Dinosaurs were active animals and not slow, dumb lumbering lizards.
And although the Jurassic Park Velociraptors are famously inaccurate, they were based on information that was currently being gathered the very same year the movie was released. Information about a raptor that was not only the biggest ever found, but would even dwarf Spielberg's movie monster! The beast that still reigns as the king of the raptors... Utahraptor.
Part 2 The White River Formation: A Paleo Analysis Special
One project I’ve always wanted to do on the channel is going out into the field and documenting a fossil dig for everyone to enjoy. Showing you all the hardships and trials Paleontologists face everyday in order to preserve these fragmented pieces of natural history. While also teaching you about the animals that used to live on this planet.
Well in May of 2024, I was finally able to make that a reality! With the help of my friends from the other members of the Fossil Nerd Adventure Team I was able to collect enough footage while on our trip to the White River Formation in northwest Nebraska to put together this Paleo Analysis special presentation!
The White River Formation covers a huge span of the midwest United States and has layers that are dated to the Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene and Pliocene. But where we go is mostly dated to the Late Eocene/Oligocene. A time when the world was in turmoil as the forests of the Eocene were starting to recede, and mammals were taking strange new forms. Like the giant beast Megacerops who looked like a rhino but wasn’t, “false sabertooth cat” Nimravids, and a terrifying pig-like beast called Archaeotherium, which despite looking like a pig is actually more like a predatory land hippo!
Part 3 Triassic Beasts Giant Dicynodont
As I have make my way through the History of the Earth series, I have come to realize that it can be hard to properly give all the different species that come and go as the eons pass their due coverage. So I have decided to make a mini series within the series that everyone has been asking me to return to!
In this episode, I take a look at the family of Synapsids that got their start in the Permian, and then managed to hang on through the great dying because of the hardiness of one species called Lystrosaurus!
Unfortunately, despite being the most widespread and common animal on earth in the first million years of the Triassic, Lystrosaurs sadly perished. But the story of the Dicynodonts was far from over! And in the Triassic they would not only diversify, but shape the future of the Earth!
