Why are Christians so obsessed the resurrection of Jesus? Paul lays it out clearly in I Corinthians 15. While he is speaking of resurrection in general, he reveals how crucial it is to our faith.

If there were no resurrection, then Christ could not have risen.

If Christ did not rise:
Our preaching is worthless
Your faith is worthless
We are false witnesses
You are still in your sins
The dead are gone forever
We are more pathetic than everyone else.

However, if He did rise from the dead, we also will be raised.

If Jesus did not rise from the dead, we have nothing. If He did rise from the dead, we have everything. Not only is Christianity true, but it is the one true religion.
