What was the primary sin of Sodom and Gomorrah? Some say that it was homosexuality. Some say it was a lack of hospitality. But what does the Bible say?
I think an honest look at Genesis 19 indicates that the primary sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was homosexuality. The word "yada," translated as "know," can and usually does refer to a sexual relationship. For example, it was used of Adam and Eve in Genesis 4:1. Also, Lot offered his daughters to the men of Sodom in exchange for the angelic visitors, specifically stating their virginity.
It is also interesting that Ezekiel mentions that one of the sins of pride was "pride." Any time we reject God's design it is based on our pride.
