UPDATE: It's been a while since this video has been uploaded, and after a lot of discoveries the limit has been brought down to just 3 captures (The first Cap Kingdom Pylon, the Ruined Pylon and the Bowser capture).

This video shows all the Remaining Captures that are required to beat the game (any%) There is a small difference in the amount of the captures depending on the Version you are playing on. In 1.0 and 1.1 you can beat the game in just 13 Captures, but in 1.2 it takes 14 Captures because there was a trick that was used to get infinite height in earlier Versions, which was patched out in 1.2.

This isn't considered a Capture by the Game. Hacks were used to test if it would add the Spark Pylon to the Capture list, and it didn't.
