DC has had a long history of adapting some of its most iconic stories and characters through animation, whether it be through animated feature films or cartoons. Some of the most beloved versions of heavy-hitters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, the Teen Titans, and the Justice League as a whole have come through animated shows and films. The rise of the DC Animated Movie Universe and the Tomorrowverse led to certain films becoming more stale with their animation and art style, as they had to share the same look across projects within the same continuity. Recently, however, it seems like DC Studios is going back to its roots with more standalone movies and shows, or even projects that are canonical within James Gunn's DCU still having their own visual identity. These include My Adventures with Superman, Absolute Batman, Mister Miracle, Batman: Knightfall, and more.
