Nature is as heartbreaking as it is beautiful. In Nest One, Aurora stands up and gives us a clear look at the remaining unhatched egg. Given the timeline, it is now too late for this egg to hatch, and it appears to be unviable.

While it's sad to see, this is a very normal part of the osprey life cycle.

Hopefully Garry and Aurora will return to nest one at Loch Arkaig Pine Forest next year and mate again...
