On youtube you never quite see what goes into a real friction fire. I think it gives a false impression of what is involved to create fire with materials found in the field. Sometimes you get lucky and find the materials quickly but most of the time you have to search for hours to find what you need. It took me 2 hours to find the materials (hemlock and mullien) I used in this video
