Riding at night feels more dangerous, but the reason usually isn't the one people assume. In this video we look at three real reasons night riding is riskier than day riding: how far your headlight actually lets you see and react to what's ahead, why the odds of sharing the road with an impaired driver climb the later you're out, and the one thing a single headlight can't tell an oncoming driver trying to judge how fast you're closing on them. None of it comes down to bad luck or wildlife — it comes down to limits you can actually plan around, once you know they're there.
