Annie Oakley is one of the most legendary figures of the American West. A sharpshooter, performer, and symbol of frontier spirit. But despite her fame as a Wild West icon, Annie Oakley was born and raised far from the American West, in the quiet countryside of rural Ohio.
In this video, we travel to Greenville, Ohio, to explore the real roots of Annie Oakley. We visit the site of her birthplace, walk the land where she grew up, and pay our respects at her final resting place, alongside her beloved husband and fellow performer, Frank Butler.
Along the way, we delve into her incredible life story, from a difficult childhood marked by poverty, to her rise to international stardom as the star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.
