Agile, I have sinned. It has been 630 days since my last retro.
At regular intervals, the team (even a team of one) reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly. Some times that interval is not so regular...
This retro covers a long period of time and not a lot of videos. We had a mix of videos from the NerdDice.com Rails series, the NerdDice RubyGem series, and the Setup and Configuration series. The setup and configuration videos in particular performed really well. One of those videos became the most viewed Stateless Code video of all time.
Since the pace of producing videos dropped off quite a bit, it's worth inspecting why. One of the big reasons was spending a lot of time playing Baldur's Gate 3 (sorry, not sorry). The other one was that I procrastinated quite a bit on the NerdDice.com schema entity diagram. I added a few action items to my continuous improvement backlog.
Finally I talked about the plans for what to do next for Stateless Code. Do we continue on with NerdDice.com? Do we record another getting started series for Rails 8? Do we start a series on the basics of computer programming for beginners? Do we keep adding in setup and configuration videos as opportunites come up? Maybe all of them. The trick will be prioritizing and staying productive and consistent in releasing new content.
As always with our retros we try to have a little fun.
