Song: Dust in the Wind
Artist: Kansas
Album: Point of Know Return
Writer: Kerry Livgren
Year: 1977

At the end of our retrospectives and other special episodes, we like to close things out by singing a song.

Dust in the Wind has long been one of my favorite songs. Recording this gave me a chance to experiment with harmony on a video and editing the separate tracks together.

The song was written by Livegren 1977 less than 2 years before his conversion to Christianity. In many ways it echoes the themes of Ecclesiastes with an emphasis on the vanity of life under the sun.

Be warned: I'm a professional programmer rather than a singer for a reason. Michael Duchemin and Stateless Code disclaim any and all liability for psychological trauma you may experience as a result of listening to me sing this song.

NOTE: In the pre-song banter I make a factual error approximating Solomon to 1000 A.D. when I meant 1000 B.C.
