In many environments, personal and business incentives interact which creates a tricky situation whereby some people are simply looking for social interaction whereas others are actively trying to network and create links and contacts. Social media, especially Twitter, is a digital manifestation of such an environment where some people see it as a place where you can be your authentic self whereas others see it as a tool to grow an audience.
