Batman comics have evolved in numerous ways with different artists and writers at DC Comics creatively expressing their ideal version of the caped crusader. Modern comics on Batman, however, have had recurring issues with repeating similar story beats and orchestrating almost earth-shattering events for the city of Gotham. Big arcs through the years since DC Rebirth include City of Bane, Joker War, and Fear State with Scarecrow. This is apparent in the recent Gotham War storyline within Batman 137, where the Batfamily goes against Bruce and sides with Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman. Damian Wayne, as Robin, and Batman face off against the likes of Nightwing, Red Hood, Cassandra Cain, who is also Batgirl, Stephanie Brown, and Catwoman. The most recent arc, written by Chip Zdarsky, was the Failsafe arc, drawing inspiration from the Justice League's 'Tower of Babel', with the Failsafe android being capable of standing against formidable figures like Superman, Aquaman, and Black Canary.
