We've all seen them, we've all followed along with them, and even MAKE them. Metal vocal tutorials are an extremely useful way to learn everything from how to do false cord screams, how to hit that perfect fry tone, quick ways to find a pitched scream...IF you understand what they are for, what your expectations should be, and how to sift the good information from the bad. BUT, if you can find a handful of great metal vocal coaches (there are many) who give helpful metal vocal tutorials and go in with the right mindset, you can make a ton of progress without ever taking a vocal lesson.
