An emerging science, nanotechnology has great potential to tackle global challenges and contribute to economic growth.
With funding from our Going Global Partnerships programme, the University of Lancashire and East China University of Science and Technology embarked on a collaborative research partnership to apply nanotechnology to a significant global challenge: lack of access to clean drinking water.
Their ground-breaking research has led to a proven, one-step solution for removing highly toxic pollutants from water, which has the potential to transform water sanitation globally. The project also supported the professional development of young researchers, particularly women, through collaborative training and exchange opportunities.
