The Portuguese didn't get piri piri from a restaurant chain — they found it in Mozambique. 🌶️
Bird's eye chillies (not a brand, just seriously hot peppers). "Piri piri" literally means "pepper pepper" in Swahili.
My recipe: olive oil, garlic, bay leaves as the non-negotiable base, then whatever else I'm feeling — onions, bell peppers, more. Blend it, fridge it, use it on everything for 3 weeks.
Once you make your own, you won't go back.
