Dear Loyal Patrons

During my second visit to Stephen's orchard (and my Brother's first) I recorded a conversation with him regarding cider making. He has been producing cider for approximately 40 years and is font of knowledge.

This video explores the diverse world of cider, delving into topics ranging from traditional cider farms to industrial production. It covers the nuances of cider making across different regions, comparing varieties like the Kingston Black and highlighting brands like Aspalls. Viewers will learn about the composition of apples, the role of sulphites in preventing spoilage, and the differences between authentic hard cider and mass-produced alternatives. Additionally, the video touches on related health topics such as heart problems and arthritis, as well as the comparison between cider and beer production, with a special mention of Leffe beer. Finally, it discusses the challenges of mechanization versus human cultivation in cider production.
