Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel | THE PLAGUE "PAL Overscan" (AMIGA - Full Game + In-Game Music) @ZEUSDAZ | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
Zeus presents The Plague "PAL Overscan Version" (un-emulated) for the Amiga A500, a classic from the golden era of amiga gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1990
Finally the full PAL overscan version of this game can now be seen in full and It's a privalage to be the first person/channel to show it.
For well over 30 years we only the cropped "Pan & Scan" version which was cracked back in the day by "CLASSIC" and I remember back in the day after seeing the overscan demo of this game being very disappointed by the game having a huge border at the bottom with a good 3inches of screen cut off at the top and the only way you could see the missing part of the screen was to get hit which caused the screen to move up in line with your hero when he got hit,....well finally now that is not the case.
Spread across 4 levels you must do battle with the many frightening enemies that will do their best to eliminate you on your quest to defeat the plague and It's main cause,...a fantastic looking giant metallic wasp which is one of the most impressive game bosses I've ever seen, just a shame the other bosses in this game are a little lame.
The levels are very rich in colour which is It's main selling point shown in glorious fullscreen overscan, the title screen tune is brilliant and the in-game music is pretty cool,...the latter I've shown at the end of the video (26:10).
The game is rock hard especially from level 2 onwards where fast reaction times and pixel perfect jumping are needed to survive but you do have a smart bomb and several different weapons to pick up on the way to help,...the final weapon is at the end of level 4 where you need it to defeat the game boss.
So I give you The Plague in It's full overscan beauty, another first for the Zeusdaz channel.
