Every year my wife and I retire our wedding rings and I make new ones, and for our 11th anniversary I wanted to push myself by making a pair of titanium wedding rings with a hidden “11” inlay made from ebony veneer and titanium accents. Using the xTool MetalFab to cut 6mm titanium plate, I shaped, sanded, machined, and polished each ring by hand while experimenting with laser-cutting settings, lead-in lines, and lathe cleanup. This unusual tradition started as a fun idea but has grown into a creative ritual that teaches me something new every year.
