I built a router sled to flatten two massive walnut cookie slabs, six inches thick and way too big for any machine in my shop. The build didn't go as planned, and there are a few things about building a router sled that aren't obvious until you're deep into it. I walk through the full build, the mistakes, and all the upgrades I made to finally get it working: better dust collection, a smarter height system, and the one part I built from scratch that you can just buy on Amazon.
