After quite some time and research, I found the three pieces that I think provide the perfect protection for the GH4's micro HDMI port.

FIRST is the "budget" Chinese GH4 cage, now available for around $100.

The key is that this cage not only has a great, long, reversible handle, and a leather hand strap, but it has a tie-down "squeeze" plate for the camera cables- this is ESSENTIAL.

There is a cheaper similar cages without this tie-down.
So it's not full protection of the cables. Don't get that one.
There are way more expensive cages, also without the cable tie down. So it's not purely a cost issue.

SECOND is the Photography and Cinema HONU HDMI clamp.

This holds the cable in place so that it's protected on both sides from getting bumped. When tightened down on the cage listed above, it protects the cable as I showed you in the video.

THIRD is the correct right angle cable.

This Afunta cable is in the US so it offers Prime shipping, as opposed to weeks of delay. There are cheaper ones, but this is the one I got because I wanted my camera protected now, not weeks from now.

BONUS is the headphone mic pigtails.

Use these for microphone and and headphone out, run these through the tie-down plate on the cage with the HDMI and you've then secured all the AV hookups against damage.

I haven't found these in the USA yet so it's a Chinese order with a 3+ week lead time. You can get the same thing on e-bay with the same delay in shipping.

You can get "4-pole" which are for phones so the 4th wire communicates volume control, hang up the phone, etc. THis is NOT what you want on your camera. You need a 3-pole, left, right, common.

Don't get a cable with an inline volume control for the mic input because those cheap volume controls will cause audio issues, crackle, noise, etc. You want a clean cable.

I hope this help you.
