This is my musical diary entry for Saturday June 10th, 2023; being played, conceptualised, checked and released all on that day. Each track was improvised and in one take. Just me and a mini synth, seeing what entertains and enthralls me on this particular day. I have been needing to find a new way to satiate the creative cravings that continually crawl around my cranium, and these 'suddenly drowned in waves of inspiration' bursts could be the answer.
The titles hopefully paint enough of a picture to add an extra dimension to each piece, and there are further insights in the 'Lyrics'.

There was temptation to flesh out ideas, add layers, build up to the release, make a video, do it as a split or put it onto tape; but after a few listens once it was compiled, it just felt absolutely right as it was. Hitting Publish on the day and telling a few understanding friends and music seekers is more than enough for me; but just because it was quick and improvised doesn't mean I'm not immensely proud and pleased with this. I wouldn't put anything out there if it felt wrong or bad. In fact, this one really makes me smile, a lot!
Doing it all on the day proved to myself I can let go of things quicker and not tie myself in knots for months or more over every single miniscule detail. Some releases will still take years and be grander productions, but it feels like the low key, stripped back and down to earth efforts are just as important to me now. The freedom it grants is incredibly important.
P.S. The title is meant to translate as 'Dungeon Owl', if you wondered!
