I have the journal finished! A lovely, boho style, handmade junk journal with the theme of the “The Other Wise Man.” I’ve used an original recycled antique book with it’s beautiful, embossed title on the cover. This book was published in 1900. I have also used my usual button and beaded closure. The journal is 7.25 inches by 5.25 inches with a 1-inch spine. There are three hand sewn signatures with 95 pages. It’s a lovely size. It’s not too big, but lavishly decorated and stuffed with fun things. It’s just right!
There is a lovely mix of luxurious papers inside, including coffee dyed papers, hand made papers, vintage book pages and designer papers. I’ve used many mixed media techniques to decorate 19 pockets and tucks. These are filled with 25 pieces of handmade and original vintage ephemera. I’ve used rich fabrics and laces for ruffled edges and embellishments throughout the journal.
