KOJRO Retro innovations | The old school Joystick tester. How can we test them in the most complicated and time consuming way? @kojroRI | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 3 minutes ago.
I have a lot of old joysticks laying about, and I have no clue whatsoever if they work or not. I could of course just set up a C64, or an old Atari and just start up a game.. But what will be the fun in that.. Games for fun, who has ever heard of such a concept. No, we do it the hard way by wiring up a joystick tester on a piece of Perfboard, and we leave enough room on the plate to be able to extend on this if the need should arise in the future. This involves some mansplaining about the joystick port, some sketchy drawings, some drilling and filing, and even some soldering.
