KOJRO Retro innovations | It’s only logical. Episode 17 “Let’s DECODE something, Shall we ?” A Christmas Calendar from KOJRO. @kojroRI | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This is my second take on a 24 episode Christmas calendar. Last time the task was presenting a new vintage computer from the MS-Dos area each time. This time I am going to cover some even older bits of computer history, and these bits play a part even today. We are going to look into the bread-and-butter logic chips, and the theory behind them. Mainly the 74xxx series of TTL gates.
The seventeenth episode starts with us going through the datasheet on the SN74154 decode ship, and then we make it work on the breadboard, with our brand new perfboard LED setup to show the results in all it’s glory.
