In February of 2021 I will be walking the 168km between the southernmost and northernmost points of Okinawa Island in Japan via the east coastal road. Having accomplished a similar walk two years ago along the shorter west coastal road I'm hoping to accomplish this trek in some 38hrs.
This year, over 7,900 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer, and an estimated 370 will die of the disease. It is the most common cancer in men aged between15 to 35. When found early and treated appropriately, testicular cancer is usually curable.
I'm going to be walking to raise funds for the OddBalls Foundation who aim to place as many ‘check yourself ‘ guides into male toilets and changing rooms. This encourages males to check themselves regularly and in doing so detect any problems early.
I will be walking during nocturnal hours so as not to breath down too many traffic fumes during the day. Hopefully with good weather my body will be able to recharge during daylight hours as I will be sleeping rough on beaches along that coastline during the trip.
If you could see fit to sponsoring this endeavor it would mean a great deal. The price of a morning coffee or a drink at your local watering hole. It all goes to a great cause, ok kicking Testicular Cancer where it hurts.
Please do also share and inform others of this project.
