The Official Father Christmas Game by Alternative Software
So this is more the sort of garbage I was expecting from a christmas game. Look at that monochrome loading screen.... now realise that it's 32 characters wide because that's the width of a ZX spectrum screen! Even on the ZX, a monochrome loading screen is a garbage sign (I strongly recommend youtube.com/watch?v=dekMYO5HNvU for a complilation of some really cool ZX loading screens)
Given that, I was surprised when I got into the game that it wasn't just cheap ZX port trash. Also I guess it was for charity, at some point...
The first level commits a seriously grevious sin of being a game where you have to carry things, where contact with an enemy makes you drop the thing, but then makes it completly non-obvious if this has happened - I kept going to the sled, and finding that i'd dropped the item i was carrying, and honestly had no idea. A shame, because this first level is the games only redeeming feature. The rest of the game is just trash
