Can’t Wait! is another enticing preview of BACKSTAGE, the coming-of-age existential concept album by The Odd Ditties, the band of Needlejuice Records co-founder Austin Ash Lemon. Available on vinyl, CD, cassette, and streaming Friday February 14th.

This 80s new wave rocker contrasts the optimism of youth with the mundane horrors of adulthood. Switching between a bouncy, wholesome major key to a disturbing, jagged minor, here finally is the schizophrenic anthem to nihilism the world has been so feverishly clambering for.

The digital single contains a jaunty cover of Tom Waits’s “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up.” It’s our sincerest hope that by putting two songs with the exact opposite message right next to each other like this, listeners will experience a bewildering cognitive dissonance.
