In this segment from "Joys of the Season,' we take you to Tucker Theatre for two delightful dance pieces from "The Nutcracker" choreographed by Dance faculty Kim Holt.

Our talented dance students will bring to life “Candy Cane” and “Hot Chocolate,” two vibrant variations from this beloved holiday ballet. When "The Nutcracker" first premiered in St. Petersburg in 1892, these colorful divertissements were created to celebrate a variety of cultures through distinct music and movement, adding a playful, global flair to the enchanting story.

Enjoy these spirited performances as our dancers capture the charm, character, and timeless magic of Tchaikovsky’s classic.
