Nortent Vern 1 3S vs Fjällräven Abisko Lite 2 — 40MPH Summit Wind Test!
How does the Nortent Vern 1 3S perform when things get seriously windy?
In this test, I take the Vern 1 3S onto a SUMMIT and put it up against 40 mph winds — and unfortunately for the tent, the wind is coming from a less-than-ideal direction.
Joining the Vern is the Fjällräven Abisko Lite 2, a well-established and fully tried-and-tested 4-season tent. This gives us a fascinating opportunity to see how the newer Nortent performs against a proven mountain shelter when the conditions start getting serious.
This isn't just a quick look at how the tents appear to handle the wind. I compare their wind stability and overall performance, while showing you what's actually happening both inside and outside the tents.
And importantly, the 40 mph wind speed isn't an estimate. The wind is measured at the tent, giving us real-world data and much more accurate evidence of the conditions both tents are being subjected to.
So, how much movement is there?
How well do the structures cope?
What happens inside the tents?
And, most importantly...
How does the Nortent Vern 1 3S compare with a proven 4-season shelter like the Abisko Lite 2 when the summit winds start hitting 40 mph?
Let's find out. 🌬️⛺
