Three weeks ago, another YouTube channel began a build up on a 318 Chrysler engine. During the preparation phase they installed a pipe plug into an oil passage that should never be blocked or restricted in any way.
Predicably the engine failed on the dyno and the builders were seemingly baffled as to why.
We commented on their video, pointed out the error made and they acknowledged our observation, stating that they had checked and no passages had been blocked.
This is both wrong and impossible.
Here is how the oil circulation through one of these engines, where the passages are located and why this should never be duplicated under any circumstances. This WILL kill your freshly built engine faster than you can blink your eyes.
