Isn't 2020 the year that keeps on giving? We FINALLY get to see #TheNewMutants (and in theatres, if you so choose) which tragically marks the official end of the Fox X-Men movies (or perhaps not so tragically). Will this be a fitting tribute to the first ever cinematic universe? Or will the 13th film in the franchise be unlucky?
The #NewMutants, directed by Josh Boone, has an amazing cast in Blu Hunt, Charlie Heaton, Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy who bring the youth back to the X-franchise, and try their hand and genre-bending from the typical PG-13 format of the X-Men films (other than Deadpool and Logan).
In my #NewMutantsMovieReview, I examine how we got here over the span of 20-years, how well they adapt these great characters, and how well Boone does with his attempt to bring something new to mutants.
