Grafana 13 brings a major upgrade to the gauge visualization — one of Grafana's most widely used chart types — with new shapes, spark line support, gradients, and accessibility improvements now generally available.
The revamped gauge adds a full circular shape alongside the classic arc, giving you more flexibility in how you present metrics at a glance. Spark line support makes the gauge a strong alternative to the stat visualization when working with time series data. Gradient fills improve readability for threshold-based dashboards, and the new center glow option renders the current value's color as a soft glow behind the text — solving the readability issues that could arise when changing text color directly. Additional options include rounded bars, configurable bar thickness, endpoint markers, and a new text display mode to control exactly what information is shown.
The revamped gauge visualization is available now in Grafana 13 — give it a try and share your feedback.
