This virtual brown bag lunch is covering the national agenda for passenger rail. This will include recent legislation, our vision for a national high-speed network and how we can work together to make it happen. Momentum is building towards a large investment in US passenger rail. We have champions in Congress, leaders among the Biden Administration and civic leaders who are advocating for high-sped rail.
In the past few months we have seen three bills introduced in Congress that could be the building blocks for a national high-speed network: The Intercity Passenger Rail Fund Act would provide dedicated funding for Amtrak, the American High-Speed Rail Act calls for a $205 billion investment and the High-Speed Rail Corridor Development Act would authorize $32 billion for federally designated high-speed corridors.
