Burt Myers is a household name at Bowman Gray Stadium, but most average NASCAR fans don't realize his family goes back to the origins of NASCAR itself. His father Gary Myers was an independent on the Winston Cup circuit in the mid 1970s with his original garage still standing right next to the shop that Burt, Jason, and Slate Myers race out of to this day. From Billy Myers winning the first-ever paved race at Martinsville Speedway in 1955 to Chocolate Myers and the legendary Dale Earnhardt era at RCR, and the prestigious Myers Brothers Award, the Myers name is woven into every major milestone of NASCAR racing history.
