This walk through the wonders of Old Middlesex starts at Headstone Manor house built in the early 14th Century but with manor itself dating back to 825 AD. It was once owned by the Archbishops of Canterbury and was a favourite place of Thomas a Becket who stayed here in 1170 before his final fateful journey to Canterbury.
After exploring the manor house and magnificent medieval barns we take a walk along the Yeading Brook - the source of the River Crane. This beautiful walk takes us through the Borough of Harrow into the Borough of Hillingdon and around the edge of Northolt Aerodrome. Crossing Ickenham Marsh we arrive at the A40 Western Avenue which is where the walk ends.
