I’ve spent 35 years in the music business—and the business I started in doesn’t exist anymore.

In 2004, MYNT’s “How Did You Know?” featuring Kim Sozzi went from clubs → DJs → mixshows → radio, eventually reaching #3 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart and crossing over to the Billboard Hot 100.

Today, I can finish a song like “I Surrender,” upload it, and make it available around the world almost instantly.

Distribution got easier.

Getting people’s attention didn’t.

At 56, I’m learning how content, advertising, data and social media fit into building an audience in 2026.

Access got easier. Attention got harder.
