EvilmonkeyzDesignz | The most popular Integrated Circuit @EvilmonkeyzDesignz | Uploaded March 2024 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
This video focuses specifically on the NE555 version that was made by STmicroelectronics.
-
The NE555 was first introduced by Signetics 50 years ago back in 1972, after having been designed the year prior by the late Hans Camenzind. Versions of the 555 timer are still being made today, meaning that this circuit has been in production for over 50 years! For example, Texas Instruments still makes a bipolar NE555 version that you can buy today. They also offer it in smaller packages than the traditional DIP-8.

As always, I would recommend checking out the Wikipedia Page for the 555 Timer, which has an amazing amount of information on it, including a breakdown of the chip’s internals.
