The monsoon flow through Jackson Hole just continues. Back on our Town Creek today for some more storm fishing.
I’m endlessly enamored by the beauty of a Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat. Their coloring, the intricate pattern of their spots, their anatomy, and perhaps most of all, the wild places they inhabit. Usually tucked beneath a cut bank that seems far more successful at collecting my flies than I am at catching fish.
There’s something about walking these creek banks under a darkening sky, watching the weather move across the valley and wondering whether the next bend might hold one.
Today, the storm delivered.
A beautiful cutthroat, a soaking rain, and then a rainbow across the valley.
