The other night, we honored the end of a hundred-year chapter for a Jackson Hole legacy property, a place that has quietly witnessed the history of this valley.

We hoped to find a steward who understands its depth: elk grazing through the cottonwoods, mornings shaped by the Snake River, century-old cabins, and open spaces protected to remain wild for generations.
The family shared their favorite meal, we raised glasses, and I presented a photo book from our year together. Then they handed me their father’s buckskin jacket, a hand-beaded piece he wore at community gatherings. I’ll wear it proudly, with gratitude for their trust.
