I recently found out that there is a new MLM launching soon called Oolalife. After I looked into Oolalife, I realized that it’s probably one of the worst, and potentially most harmful, MLMs to launch in the last couple years. Their product is an interactive self-help/personal development course (ahem … it reminds me a lot of NXIVM).
Many of those signed up for the MLM opportunity are those who already work as “life coaches” with Oola, and the founders of the MLM are already suggesting that Oola can help people with “mental health problems”. So, in my opinion, they’re building an MLM model where the up-lines play a pseudo-psychologist role to their downlines.
The MLM is also based on a best-selling book by Troy Amdahl and Dave Braun (who are … chiropractors) called Oola: Finding Balance in an Unbalanced World. The book is incredibly disappointing. Just like many books in the self-help genre, they focus on things like mindset and motivation, and heavily use tired cliches and generalizations.
