The Apple Vision Pro is one of the most intriguing and enticing forms of technology and spatial computing I have ever seen.. It also makes me very concerned about the loneliness epidemic.
As someone that can get lost in my thoughts and push the boundaries between being alone and loneliness, when I watched the trailer for the vision pro I wanted to get lost in that world. I could not imagine watching one of my favorite movies and then taking it off and having to feel completely at peace with my life... and why is that?
It is because I have not faced certain struggles I use technology to overcome. The technology is not to blame, The Vision Pro will not be the downfall of social interactions, AI will not be the reason for our downfall. It may potentially be because of the actions that are just to hard to face. Focusing on self improvement, working with your community, sharing laughs and love is a way to remember the beauty of the real world.
